After an almost near death experience and after tragically losing a friend and coworker, Saleheh started to think about the purpose of her life and everything she was doing. That’s when she realized it was time for a change and that it was time to find that ambitious little girl that she had somehow lost in herself. So, how does someone go from an analytics and scientific background to being a life coach for big corporations? How do you jump into a field that you didn’t even know existed the year before? I’m so excited to share this interview with you all about pushing yourself to go out of your comfort zone and finding your true passion for helping yourself and others.
If you’re not in your comfort zone, you’re doing something right:
We all feel uncomfortable when trying new things. Whether it’s a new career, a new skill or a new lifestyle, it can be tough to push ourselves out of our comfort zone. Saleheh proposed a really interesting idea that if we are always in our comfort zone, we are not growing or getting better. We remain static and complacent and nothing really changes about our lives. Stepping outside of your comfort zone will feel scary, but it will push you to new levels that you might not have thought you could achieve!
You have to focus not just on professional development, but also personal development:
professional development and getting better at our jobs is, of course, important. However, Saleheh suggests that we also need to focus on our own and our employee’s personal development as well. We need to prioritize our health, our mental health, our level of happiness, and all the things that sometimes get pushed to the side. If we are happy and healthy people, then we will do a much better job in our position and the work we produce will show that as well.
If you want to find the time, you will:
Being a new business owner, especially one that also works a full-time job, is not easy. It means sacrifice, late nights and early mornings, but if the passion is there then it doesn’t feel like a burden. People always say that they just don’t have time to do this or they are too tired to do that, but in reality, if you want to do it and you’re passionate about it, you will find a way. The key is to stop using excuses and start being strategic about your day so that you are able to accomplish all that you want to.
