You know those gut feelings that you get that you just can’t ignore? Those quite but persistent thoughts of something more that you just can’t shake. Victoria Naylor, the founder of Victoria Branding & Designs knew that she couldn’t ignore those dreams of wanting to start her own business. Through experimenting with social media, working in the multi-level marketing world and furthering her education, Victoria grew her confidence with each new experience and created the life and business she had been dreaming of back when she worked in the corporate world. In this episode, Victoria and I talk all about how you can sell on social media without being pushy, what you need to pay attention to when crafting your brand and much, much more!
Sales don’t have to feel icky:
We have all seen it and experienced it…that one person on social media constantly sliding into your DMs or messages and trying to sell you something. most of the time these people are strangers…which makes it even worse! It feels pushy and uncomfortable and fake. However, the truth is, sales don’t have to make you feel icky! Victoria has tons of experience using social media to sell services and products and her approach is to always lead with VALUE. That means that you are providing something that others need, want and will find useful. She has adopted the “give, give, give then sell” model that many successful marketers today swear by. It takes that impersonal and pushy vibe out of the selling process because you’re not just there for you or for money. You’re there to share valuable information and about things that can actually make a difference in people’s lives. Bottom line…you give them more than you sell them.
Visuals matter:
Here’s the thing, you can offer the best, most high-quality products and services, have the best customer service and nail every job that you do. BUT if your brand (that includes your website, social media, email marketing, etc) isn’t visually appealing, then I promise, you’re going to miss out on potential customers. We are a highly visual society and how your brand, website or social media profile looks is often the first impression potential clients will get of your business. So, pay attention to how everything looks as well as how well everything works. If your images take forever to lead…that will take away from the visual impact. If buttons on your website don’t work…that will take away from your visual impact. Make sure you tailor your visuals so that you love them and your ideal clients love them and want to keep coming back for another look!

Victoria is the author of the awesome book, The Ultimate Guide to Instagram. It’s all about how to leverage Instagram for your business and not working about how many followers you have, but that you have the RIGHT followers. Don’t fall into the trap of buying followers or using bots. Instagram can tell and you’ll be in danger of having your profile shut down.
