Being a business owner is difficult in any field. However, it can sometimes be especially difficult if you are working on a field or offering services that veer from the mainstream or are a little more obscure. There are unique challenges but there are also unique ways that those businesses can make a difference in people’s lives. I am so excited to share this interview with Bianca not only because I really admire her approach to business, but also her approach to life and how she can use her gifts to be of service to others. Her openness and generosity is truly an inspiration and she shares tons of great advice and insights that will be helpful to anyone, whether you’re a business owner or not. Under promise, Over Deliver:
Managing client expectations can be difficult, especially if your service deals with emotional or personal topics. Bianca likes to approach her reading with the notion that she will under promise but over deliver. If you promise your clients the moon and can’t follow through, then you’re business and reputation will take a hit. Offer your clients a realistic view of what you can provide them, but work your hardest to really over deliver and give them a great experience. This will keep their expectations in check and give you room to really wow them.
How to encourage vulnerability:
Putting people at ease and getting them to open up to you can be difficult. It takes practice and the more you do it the better you will get at it. here are a few tips Bianca shared to help you to get your clients to relax and open up.
1. Respect their personal space and give them room to breathe. There’s nothing worse than someone invading your space and making your uncomfortable.
2. Make sure you’re relaxed so they feel they can be (quiet confidence)
3. Show you care
4. Pay attention to details
Building your confidence takes practice:
Bianca shared that in her work, she is able to see the light in others and really help to show them how amazing and wonderful they are, but it’s harder to turn that gaze inward. You have to work on your confidence every day and eventually, it will be easier and easier to believe in yourself and your gifts. Keep tabs on negative self-talk and make sure to make self care a priority.
