Coming from a family of female entrepreneurs, To Michelle, starting her own business felt like a natural path. The Summer before her senior year of college, she started my freelance graphic design business and never looked back. Michelle has also been a “digital nomad” working from cities all over the world since July 2017. In this episode, we chat all about what it’s really like working on the go, how to create an effective brand strategy and much more!
Find Your Tribe:
If you’re interested in the digital nomad lifestyle, you’re not alone. over the past decade, traveling the world while also running a business has become a more realistic idea. However, there are still a few pain points that you want to be aware of so you can tackle them like a pro. For example, finding a place to live, having a place to work with good wifi, learning about the area and where to go for certain things you might need. Michelle solved this problem by pairing up with a company called WiFi Tribe. They are a network of digital nomads that travel the world while working. This means that she has a network to refer on when she needs something. Plus, she has people who understand her lifestyle and can help support her.
If you want to be a digital nomad, find a tribe or a network you can connect with. Whether that’s a company like Wifi Tribe or a group you met somewhere else. it’s great to do things on your own, but it’s so much better when you have great people around supporting you.
What Exactly Is a Brand?
So if you own a business or are thinking about starting one, you’ve most likely heard the word “brand”. You’ve heard how important it is to have one and how you have to “brand” this and “brand” that. That’s great but when it comes down to it, what exactly does that mean?
Michelle shared with me that she wrote a blog post about this topic called “What’s the difference between a Logo and a Brand? (Explained in cake)”. She breaks down all the components of a brand and how they work together. It makes so much sense and will really help you visualize all the different pieces you need to put together to create a cohesive brand. Check it out!
